POSITION:
As a Retail Associate, you are the face of IL Gelato. You welcome guests, help them find their favorite flavor, and keep the store looking beautiful. Waikiki is one of the busiest visitor destinations in the world, so the pace is fast and every day is different. This role is a great fit for students who love people, want to grow their English and customer service skills, and want to experience real life in Hawaii.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Check in with your supervisor before each shift
- Open and close the store following our daily checklists
- Keep the gelato display, pastry case and counter spotless and beautifully presented
- Welcome guests, offer samples and recommend flavors, inside and outside the store
- Take orders and payments on our POS system and balance your cash drawer
- Prepare espresso drinks, crepes, waffles and acai bowls
- Clean and care for our equipment and machines
- Let your supervisor know when products or supplies are running low
- Help at catering events with IL Carretino, our mobile gelato cart, when scheduled
- Pitch in wherever the team needs you to make every shift a success
